Culture and Safety

TVIG's mission is to promote an accident-free work environment by developing positive safety attitudes throughout the workplace. This goal is achieved with the support and involvement of all employees, including management, through communication and enforcement of our safety rules, including a job specific Health and Safety Plan.

In an effort to provide working conditions that are as healthy and safe as possible, employees are required to be conscientious about workplace safety, including proper work methods, reporting of potential hazards and abating known hazards. Unsafe work conditions in any work area that might result in an accident must be reported immediately to a supervisor. In cases where an immediate threat exists to the life or health of employees or the environment, every employee is empowered and obligated to stop the work in the safest and most prudent manner possible. Work will not be restarted until the safety issue is resolved.

TVIG's basic philosophy is that all injuries and accidents can be prevented. While responsibility
for safety begins and ends with top management, that responsibility is shared throughout the organization. Site Managers are responsible for their job sites, supervisors are accountable for the safety of their groups, and all individuals are responsible for their own safety. All employees, at every level, are expected to fully accept responsibility for their own safety and for the safety of those with whom they work. Prior to beginning any work or activity, every employee is required to familiarize himself/herself with the surrounding environment.
