Invenergy, LLC Buffalo Mountain Wind Project

The Buffalo Mountain Project added fifteen (15) Vestas V80 turbines (1.8 MW each) to one of the most challenging wind construction sites in North America.  There is a 2000-foot elevation difference between the valley floor and the ridge line where the turbines are located up a winding mining trail with five 150-degree switchbacks and very steep grades.  The site is located on recovered mine spoil over two different ridge areas.  TVIG was contracted to provide balance of plant services to Invenergy, LLC.  TVIG completed the project in 2004, on budget and ahead of schedule.
